First and foremost, Windsor FC Youth offer the local community, a football coaching service to children of all ages and abilities, from six to eighteen. To facilitate this service, it requires people who are prepared to volunteer to become qualified coaches at Windsor FC Youth. It is important that people who want to become coaches have a clear idea as to how they can achieve this aim and what it entails to be a youth team football coach.
As part of our ongoing investment in our coaches, Windsor FC Youth will encourage every team head coach to be at least FA Level One qualified and it will offer a number of different courses to each age group. For existing coaches, there will also be a menu of options for coaching courses to further develop their knowledge and qualifications in line with theirs and the clubs’ aspirations. An independent age group co-ordinator or “AGC” is elected annually and responsible organisation of the whole age group or squad in line with club best practices.
Windsor FC Youth has grown rapidly over the last five years to around forty teams. The club will continue to invest in every team having a coach that achieves their FA coaching qualifications.
The club aspires to have at least one team from each age group that can compete at the highest level possible.
As part of the ongoing development of our coaches, the club will look to offer coaching workshops to discuss how Windsor FC Youth deliver coaching to the players of the various age groups. The club can also discuss the way coaches’ plan and communicate match team selection and strategy to the players before and during games.
Windsor FC Youth generally aspires to having each age group achieving at least one team that can compete had the highest-level possible in leagues and regional cup competitions. A best practice for streaming has been developed by the club, by those that have implemented successful streaming processes at the club in the past. This is made available to Age Group Coordinators (AGC’s) and coaches that wish to stream and can also be reviewed by parents/carers.
